We sell Curva Nord, Distinti Nord, Tribuna Tevere Laterale Sud, Tribuna Tevere Laterale Nord, Tribuna Tevere Centrale and Monte Mario tickets for Roma home games and Curva Nord, Curva Sud, Distinti Nord, Distinti Sud, Distinti Est, Tribuna Tevere Laterale Nord, Tribuna Tevere Laterale Sud, Tribuna Tevere Centrale and Monte Mario tickets for Lazio home games. We cannot sell Curva Sud or Distinti Sud tickets for AS Roma home games this season because these seats have been fully booked in advance for all games in all competitions by season ticket holders. However, if you watch AS Roma from the Curva Nord or Distinti Nord, you will still have an excellent vantage point behind the goal. We recommend Tribuna Tevere Centrale and Monte Mario tickets for neutral fans with no particular allegiance to either Roma or Lazio. Please select your ticket/s from one of the scrolling fixture lists (AS Roma: Serie A, Coppa Italia, Champions League; SS Lazio: Serie A, Coppa Italia, Champions League) and then proceed to payment. For Lazio fans who want to stand with the Ultras, order Curva Nord tickets. |

Football in Rome is as passionate as it is political. The blue half of the city was traditionally 'right wing' but these days you will find as much right as left in either Curva of either team. Italy is a police state and there are as many millions of communists as there are fascists who live well here, which has nothing to do with football. Roma and Lazio Ultras consider it 'hip' to be hooligan and the English disease has caught on big time, but their waving of pro-IRA flags alongside others bearing the cross of St. George is misguided at best. There is no doubt that some Ultras have got the wherewithal to co-ordinate colourful and creative support in their respective Curvas, the steady anglicisation of what they get up to on the terraces makes the big games in Rome unmissable - something always kicks off / updated: August 2007 |

In the absence of Juve who were demoted to Serie B for corruption, main challengers Milan who had to live with an -8 point penalty and Fiorentina -15, Roma and Lazio were always odds on to finish 2nd. and 3rd. behind Mancini's South American stars. Inter stormed the Scudetto by a mammoth 22 points, their away win at the Olimpico in September a shot across the bows that Spalletti failed to heed according to Hernan Crespo, who scored the only goal. But however good Inter were, and they were brilliant, both Rome clubs qualified for the Champions League. Spalletti retained the greater part of last season's squad, Christian Wilhelmsson and Mirko Vucinic were brought in and they flitted in and out of the action with no real fireworks forthcoming from either. The anonymity of Tavano in front of goal was forgotten as Totti tore the Capocannoniere tag from Luca Toni with 26 strikes, despite botching 7 spot kicks. Lazio lost Massimo Oddo to Milan in January so Valon Behrami had to fall back and fill in, which he did admirably. The goals dried up towards the end of the campaign as injuries and suspensions to key players took their toll but fringe players who were selected battled hard and Lazio finished 3rd. Tommaso Rocchi had another excellent season netting 19 times, as did Sebastiano Siviglia who excelled in defence and scored some important late goals. |
|
Roma competed well in the Champions League, coming 2nd. in Group D behind Valencia and then despatching Houllier's expectant Lyon with 2 unexpected away goals to nil in the Last 16. The Quarter Final against Man U will live long in the memory. After a commendable 2-1 home win in a packed First Leg dominated during the day by a large contingent of MUFC lads drinking their way through Rome and then by Italian police who flew out of control during the game, Roma were taken out back in the return by Cristiano Ronaldo and friends who blitzed the Italians with 7 mercurial goals. GMP in their wisdom decided to protect the Roma fans, some of whom had goaded Mancunians from the safety of the Curva Nord 7 days earlier but there was nowhere to hide for the Giallorossi. Italian football was suspended indefinetely after the Carabinieri found themselves a man down against Catania. New laws were rushed through and just days later it was as if nothing had happened, black armbands were slipped on by players and a minutes silence at every game in the country ignored by the overwhelming majority of tifosi who know all about, and distance themselves away from police tactics in Italy which equate to uniformed thugs dishing out baton shaped bruises to anyone who gets in their way. |

Calciopoli indictment forced Lazio to kick off their Coppa Italia in lowly Round One where they trounced Serie C2 Girone C minnows Rende 4-0 in the Stadio Flaminio. 1-1 and a penalty shoot out win against Monza took the Biancocelesti to Messina and Round Three but they succumbed 3-4 to a late Di Napoli brace after extra time. Roma breezed into an awkward Quarter Final tussle with Parma after disposing of Triestina 4-1 in the Last 16, and then it was all about Milan. A couple of thumping wins at the Olimpico, 3-1 over the Rossoneri and 6-2 over Inter in the Final some kind of revenge for Spalletti and Sensi after a season spent chasing the team who not only mocked their record of 11 consecutive Serie A victories - the Nerazzurri amassed an incredible 17 on the hoof - but also won the Scudetto with a whimper. It will take a titanic effort and no lack of big name signings by Spalletti and Delio Rossi to wrestle domestic control away from the Milanese. |

Chievo, Ascoli and Messina were relegated and for 'new' boys Juventus, Napoli and Genoa, it's welcome back. |

Delio Rossi knows that a Coppa Italia Final derby against Roma without actually having to win the trophy will be enough to secure UEFA Cup football next season, so he rested 8 regulars to face in-form Siena. Had it not been for a horrible mistake by Muslera in the 88th. minute, Lazio would be 2 points better off and favourites to snatch 8th place after a bizarre season of expectation, tragedy, turmoil and feuding on the terraces. With Vignaroli and Tare up against Alex Manninger, goals were always going to be at a premium. Former Roma reservists Kharja and Galloppa started for Siena as did Roma born Manuel Coppola with Maccarone and Frick up front. Christian Riganò is almost 34 and the prolific striker scored a memorable brace for Messina against the Giallorossi on the final day last season. He won a place on the Siena bench today. Lazio at home have been a revelation since the arrival of Rolando Bianchi wrapped up the 4-3-3 wide attacking system that has engendered a big improvement in Behrami's game and boosted the undoubted talents of Stefan Radu and Aleksandar Kolarov, who together can wreak havoc down the left flank against any opponent. Sadly, Kolarov lasted just 19 minutes after a serious clash of heads with Kharja which left Lazio bereft of attacking width. Mauri operating behind Vignaroli and Tare is an odd combination even though the midfielder crashed a masked volley against the bar from a Baronio free kick. He played well enough for 77 minutes to earn his place against Inter next Wednesday night despite ongoing abuse from a divided Curva Nord who spent the 2nd. half arguing between themselves (CML, what's left of the IRR etc.) and ignoring the game completely. Siena's rather silly huddle before kick off came to nought, there were no opening exchanges of note and no real chances at all for almost 30 minutes. Mutarelli's centre was headed over by Vignaroli at the near post, Baronio's free kick drifted wide and Maccarone's flick on for Frick's 20 metre drive was scrambled clear by Muslera who was already making the crowd nervous. He made a similarly loose save to keep out Vergassola's tame strike. At the other end Siena struggled to clear a corner and Mauri's volley from Baronio's free kick hit the bar. A minute before the break, Rossi headed a Mauri cross straight to Mutarelli who fired a first time bullet low into the corner of the net from 25 yards for an undeserved lead. Roberto Baronio sent a pair of identikit free kicks just wide in the 2nd. 45 and Manninger blocked Vignaroli's shot after the striker pounced on some uncharacteristically slack Siennese defending. Rocchi was pushed off the ball by Loria in the box after combining with Igli Tare and Mauri flayed well over. Tare found space amidst Rossi and Rossettini but forgot all about Rocchi in even more space to his left and blazed wastefully wide of the post. Muslera by this time must have been praying for the whistle but with the clock ticking down, Locatelli fed Loria whose deflected shot from 18 yards would have been food and drink for any other keeper. Muslera fell over the ball on it's way into the net. One could have accepted 1-1 when the Lazio team was announced but in all fairness, this has to be the end of his brief tenure in Rome. Ballotta will play against Inter and if Livorno are relegated, Lotito could do alot worse than sign 26 year old Marco Amelia.
SIENA: Manninger, Rossettini, Portanova, Loria, Rossi, Vergassola, Kharja (subbed: Codrea 59), Galloppa (subbed: Locatelli 46), Coppola, Maccarone, Frick (subbed: Riganò 67)

Predictable Giallorossi bias particularly from those in the British media who bother to debate Calcio in print piled yet more copious, odious quantities of hype on a team who are still in with a shout of
domestic honours but continue to fail at this level of football. United threw the sucker punch and smirked their way out of the Stadio Olimpico with a Semi Final place assured. Fedayn or some other Ultras group in the Curva Sud unveiled an unremarkable banner asking to 'Free the Roma 4', in support (?) of United fans who have been incarcerated since December for dodging knives on the Ponte Duca D'Aosta and then signing confessions which fast tracked them to more than 2 years in prison, when they assumed it would fast track them back to Ciampino and home. Long before 20:45, the apprentice hoolies who still haven't been promoted from the pits of the Curva Nord unveiled a comical banner entitled 'Welcome to the Bidet' - indeed, United fans regard Rome in exactly the same way it seems as those who live here; a place where Romanisti (which approximates to 'gay boys with knives') involve themselves with each other's arses when not stabbing other people's. All very disturbing and a throwback perhaps to ancient times when women really were not what Roman men had in mind. The Champions League Final will be hosted at the Stadio Olimpico next year so there was almost no trouble and definitively no knives. Late flights meant that the Distinti Ospiti was only 1/3rd. full. No fear from United lads though, most of whom would have been organising more meaningful flights to Barcelona as soon as this humdrum fixture was announced by UEFA. Having to walk past 2,000 Curva Sud persons unknown singing 'Odio Manchester' some 3 hours before kick off and then stand with AS Roma fans in the Monte Mario for 2 hours was just no good so a quick break into the Distinti Ospiti as the teams were making their way out made for a far more entertaining evening. Coins, lighters et al flew between the Red Army and the Curva Nord but no matter, police here have been using videos of last season's jollities to illustrate how not to deal with English football fans in Rome. Anyway, they've been replaced by a small army of stewards who must be absolutely desperate for work. Ferguson's 4-3-2-1 included Park instead of Ryan Giggs, Anderson instead of Owen Hargreaves with Nani injured and Silvestre and O'Shea ready to reinforce the defensive line if Roma played as well as they did in the Bernabeu on March 5th. Spalletti fielded a predictably offensive 4-2-3-1 without Totti (who played in both legs of last year's 8-3 capitulation, so what difference was he really expected to make tonight?) and Perrotta, who was suspended. Mancini and Vucinic wasted no time at all and the burly striker dispossessed Ferdinand to ping a shot wide in the opening minute and then created enough space around the D from an Aquilani pass to skim a drive just over the bar which Van Der Sar had to watch all the way. Panucci headed over from a corner and Ronaldo sent a curiously inept free kick well wide from 30 metres. John O'Shea had to fill in for Vidic on 33 minutes who crocked his knee by which time Tonetto was making hay around a nervy Evra, but some great work between Rooney and Paul Scholes silenced the Olimpico. The veteran midfielder bided his time on the right edge of the box before lifting a ball into the midst of the Roma defence where Ronaldo came screaming in to plant an unstoppable header on the bounce into the bottom corner. He decked Cassetti in the process of scoring and came off second best but was able to continue. Max Tonetto crossed low for Vucinic to turn past 2 defenders and flash a low shot across the face of goal which was the best chance for Roma in the first 45 by some distance. After the break Vucinic returned the favour by teeing up Tonetto to net unchallenged from 12 yards but he skewed wide of the post, the first of a succession of missed chances. Tonetto's mishit forced Van Der Sar to peddle backwards and paddle the ball over then Aquilani's long throw was flicked across the United box by Mancini for Panucci to volley very high and even wider. Between the 50th. and 60th. minutes Roma were a threat and Van Der Sar made a splendid stop to keep out Vucinic's diving header from a corner. So many opportunities spurned at this level equates to elimination, a fact borne out in the 66th. minute when United, who had survived 20 minutes on the proverbial rack, made the game safe. Park strained to head a deep cross from Wesley Brown back into the zone and Doni failed to gather the ball cleanly, although he was at full stretch and distracted by Mexes, Cassetti and Panucci who were all trying to keep Rooney at bay. The United man doesn't worry unduly about AS Roma and scored. A tubby Italian in the Monte Mario tried to explain to the entire contingent of Reds that Roma are and always will be better than Manchester United which was met with the old classic, 'You fat bastard, you fat bastard' and he found himself escorted out of harm's way by security before you could say 'Are you coming to Old Trafford? Are you fuck'. 'Viva Ronaldo' in particular infuriated the home support. United toyed with Roma in the last ten minutes when Ronaldo and Tevez were just all too much for Cassetti and Mexes. Carrick was odds on to beat Doni from 20 yards after good work by Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo danced his way across 3 defenders to smack the base of the upright via a sprawling Doni save then hammered a textbook volley just over the bar from a pinpoint Tevez centre. The Italians play with attacking flair at the expense of all else 90% of the time so they may score at OT, but United are through and it's game over for Roma.

Just rename the stand 'Distinter Est'! Hundreds of them in with the Laziale tonight and it made for an interesting atmosphere. More awkward than tense what with some Lazio fans supporting Inter for one night only, one hopes. Whatever rumours were peddled back and forth in the media before this match, competition on the pitch was fierce and play as fast and furious as the Rome derby 10 days ago. Roma fans were backing Lazio to stall Inter despite derby day arrests near Piazza Risorgimento for offences relating to possession of assorted weaponry destined for the Curva Sud. Lazio and Inter are not the worst of friends so a tepid encounter was predicted by the Italian media who, as corrupt a corporate entity as any other in Italy, are very likely to be very close to or at the very top of the 'other' AS Roma payroll for blanket bias coverage in their newspapers with very, very few exceptions. This was an excellent contest, what was predicted was wide of the mark and Lazio were only foiled by Julio Cesar who has been in imperious form of late. The Inter custodian made 2 spectacular saves in particular, the first from a deflected Behrami drive that threatened to loop under the bar and earlier, from Dabo's top corner-bound piledriver but this match was decided when another 25 metre exocet from Dabo nigh on shattered the frame of the goal with the keeper unmoved. For a Saturday night kick off the Olimpico was busy, swelled with 1,800 away supporters in the 'away section' but you could multiply that figure by at least 5 to account for those mixing it with the Laziale pretty much everywhere else bar the Curva Nord who at one point began to chant for Inter, albeit only briefly. Before this season draws to a close, the dissolution of the Irriducibili will be documented on this site, probably at the end of the Lazio v Napoli review on May 18th. for those of you who are reading this and follow the Biancocelesti. Inter arrived on the back of a home defeat to Juve and 1-1 draw at Genoa with defeats at Napoli and home and away to Liverpool in the Champions League Last 16 still fresh in the memory. No Julio Cruz or Marco Materazzi who wasn't at his best against the Bianconeri compounded recent Nerazzurri problems but Mancini has strength in depth at his disposal, so much so that Vieira came off the bench and Hernan Crespo partnered Ibrahimovic in attack. Lazio settled back into their new and fruitful 4-3-3 formation. De Silvestri was picked ahead of Kolarov at right back and Stefan Radu returned from suspension. The 21 year old Romanian star has played in every game when fit since arriving from Dinamo Bucuresti and impressed again tonight, it is unfortunate that he was unable to play in the derby when he could have showed to all that he is already top dog at left back in Rome. Ledesma sent an early warning over the bar from 30 metres and De Silvestri almost set up Behrami at the far post but it took just 10 minutes for Crespo to score yet again at the Olimpico. Maicon and Stankovic lost Behrami and the Brazilian ran on to present an easy goal for the hitherto benched striker who tapped in on the run. Cribari's downward header was gathered easily but Julio Cesar had to be sharp to collect Dabo's low drive via a slight deflection after the French midfielder had dispossessed Ibrahimovic on the edge of the box. Maniche stung the hands of Marco Ballotta with a rasping drive and the veteran did well to parry a volley from Ibra who switched feet at the last moment when clear in the Lazio box. Crespo's weak low drive when through troubled no-one and then Dabo unleashed his first long ranger of the night at Julio Cesar who went to great lengths to keep the ball out of the top corner of the net. Inter and Lazio were both playing high tempo football on the break and there was no absolutely danger of either team taking their foot off the gas to help or hinder the AS Roma cause. Chivu bundled Behrami over in the box after scoring opportunities were fluffed by Goran Pandev and Ledesma but Pandev was unlucky after dribbling through the Inter defence only to have the ball nicked off his toes by Nicolas Burdisso. Lazio started the second half by racking up at least 7 corners and on 54 minutes their moment arrived. A long ball from deep by Cristian Ledesma found Rocchi onside and a good 20 yards behind the Inter defence who had pushed so far forward so quickly that the Lazio captain had ample time to size up Cesar's intentions and roll the ball nonchalantly into the corner for 1-1. That save by Julio Cesar denied Behrami's deflected strike and Stefan Radu lashed a vicious drive wide as Lazio took complete control. Mancini was forced into a string of substitutions to stem the blue and white tide, 3 changes made in 7 minutes the most notable of which being the introduction of Luis Jiminez who turned his back on Lazio without warning last Summer. De Silvestri tussled with Nelson Rivas as an Inter free kick neared the Lazio goal and Maicon fouled Behrami on the edge of the box. Towards the end of the game Behrami was breaking through Inter at will but it was Dabo's missile that deserved to win it for Lazio on 85 minutes which will be remembered by all. Inter and Roma now have Juve on their minds while Lazio have put their slump behind them and continue to impress.
INTER: Julio Cesar, Maicon, Rivas, Burdisso, Maxwell, Zanetti, Stankovic, Chivu (subbed: Vieira 73), Maniche (subbed: Jimenez 66), Ibrahimovic (subbed: Suazo 69), Crespo
Ballotta, De Silvestri (subbed: Kolarov 83), Siviglia, Cribari, Radu, Dabo, Ledesma, Behrami, Pandev, Bianchi (subbed: Tare 89), Rocchi

Points for Roma and pride for Lazio at stake tonight in an intense local derby that kicked off at 21:15 and had almost everything. No co-ordinated displays from either Curva before kick off, just Totti's jog over to the Nord to touch the Gabriele Sandri mural and drop some flowers somewhere nearby to satiate the media which impressed no-one. Only Del Piero, Zanetti, Raul and Kaka' had been able to find the back of the Roma net in the 2 months prior to this game so that Lazio put 3 past Doni is a remarkable statistic. Lazio blitzed Roma from the kick off. De Silvestri and Valon Behrami dominated the flanks with Rocchi, Bianchi and Pandev to aim for but it was Kolarov who tested Doni on 7 minutes with an inswinging free kick from 30 metres that dipped very late and was tipped onto the angle. Pandev collected the loose ball and sent it back into the zone where Bianchi misdirected his header past the post from a good position, this after a brace of Roma corners and wayward Juan header. Ledesma was troubling Doni with his own corner kicks while Vucinic flayed wide and Perrotta couldn't quite direct a header from Cassetti's raking cross. Lazio had Roma on the rack for the opening half hour but it was a bizarre goal that settled this derby down. Valon Behrami was forced to clear quickly under pressure from Vucinic and Perrotta, the ball striking Taddei who was turning away to avoid contact and it rebounded past Ballotta into the net. Despite the unexpected setback Lazio heads did not drop, in fact the underdogs stepped up a gear and equalized with an attack of the highest quality. Dabo and Ledesma were wired which De Rossi and Aquilani could do little about but it was a Pandev, Bianchi, Rocchi and Behrami move on the edge of the Roma box which created the goal. Aleksandar Kolarov was released down the left flank and he sent a demon cross between Juan and Doni who could only palm the ball straight to Pandev. The Macedonian hitman started the move and made no mistake from 8 yards. After 45 minutes of what was fast becoming a classic derby encounter, the Olimpico was already on edge with no inkling of what was to follow. Perrotta lashed wide of the post when he really should have put Roma ahead and Rocchi hared down the left wing to square for Pandev who missed a similar chance from 15 yards when any kind of touch from Bianchi would have sent the Macedonian's low ranger into the net. Kolarov bent a free kick against the outside of the post before Juan obstructed Bianchi in the 6 yard box. Rocchi blasted his penalty straight over Doni who dived too early to make it 2-1. Protestations led by Perrotta and Mexes should have left Roma with 9 men but typically they escaped unpunished for rank dissent. On 62 minutes, first Vucinic and then a sublime touch from Totti took out De Silvestri, Siviglia and Cribari to set up Perrotta who ran in and sent a first time shot into the bottom corner for 2-2. Mauri and Mutarelli came on for Bianchi and De Silvestri and the last 20 minutes were littered with half chances until the 92nd. when Valon Behrami hammered Mauri's bouncing ball across goal into the roof of the net. Pandev displaced the entire Roma defence with a wonderful chip to the far post where Mutarelli and Mauri were both onside. The Swiss starlet vaulted 2 rows of advertisements on autopilot as the greater part of the Olimpico erupted in disbelief and Delio Rossi sprinted 50 metres of the 100m track towards the Curva Nord arms aloft. Moments later, some kind of unbridled chaos unfolded along the top tiers of the Tribuna Tevere while Romanisti in the Distinti Sud set fires in their own stairwells as they left the Stadio in shocked submission after the blue and white rocket in recupero. Scenes of wild celebration were tempered at the exits by Roma fans who took offence to belligerent chants of 'Manchester, Manchester, Manchester' but there was no real trouble then, during or before kick off. It's Lazio Inter next Saturday which could be decisive if Roma drop points in Cagliari and then United on Tuesday, a huge game for the Giallorossi and everyone responsible for the policing of Italians in their own Stadia on European nights.
